What you’ll cultivate with us
Reporting to the Director of Procurement, you will actively contribute to the growth and performance of the garden centre sector. Working closely with suppliers and cooperative members, you will take part in category development, procurement strategy planning, purchasing data analysis, and the management of commercial agreements.
Your role will also be key in building lasting partnerships and delivering a member experience that lives up to our reputation.
What you’ll sow every day
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with suppliers, members and partners.
- Take part in the management and negotiation of commercial agreements.
- Research new products and suppliers to support category growth.
- Keep agreements, catalogues and price lists up to date.
- Analyze purchasing data, sales figures and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to showcasing and promoting our suppliers’ offerings.
- Collaborate closely with members and various teams across the cooperative.
- Take part in various projects aimed at continuously improving our procurement practices.
What you bring to the table
- Education in horticulture, business administration, or any other relevant combination of education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a role related to purchasing, customer service, sales or procurement.
- Experience in a buying group, a cooperative environment and/or the horticultural field (an asset).
- Excellent command of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to analyze data and use performance indicators.
- Knowledge of a CRM or digital tools (an asset).
- Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot (an asset).
- Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written, in order to communicate effectively with our suppliers and business partners.
